Nothing say "democracy" quite like being able to shout offensive things at your elected officials and suffering no serious repercussions. Donald Trump learned the hard way that democracy still lives in America despite of his best efforts.

The president took a walk-through of a Ford plant in Detroit, Michigan yesterday to push his "build cars in America only" agenda. While being toured through the facility by the factory supervisors, Thomas Sabula, a Ford automotive worker, took the opportunity to let Trump know just what he thought of the administration's handling of the Epstein files. If you would like to read more on that topic, we have an article Where Are The Epstein Files?. In a brief moment captured on video, you can hear Sabula yell "pedophile protector" at the president as he loomed over the factory floor. In, what I would describe as an "unstatesmanlike" response, Trump appears to mouth "f*** you" several times before flipping Sabula the proverbial "bird".

It's easy to forget how actual politicians would react in these times we live in. Where gestures and sentiments like this from the sitting U.S. president have been seemingly normalized. One thought that constantly comes to the minds of democrats as they witness event after event like this is "what would they say if Joe Biden had done this?" or "What would they say if Obama had said that?". Fox news would have run 24/7 coverage of the 30 second encounter of a full week had any democratic president shown such little regard for the diplomacy their position demands.

The ending to this story has been bitter-sweet. The bitter part: Sabula has been suspended by Ford. The sweet: as of the time of writing Sabula's GoFundMe has raised almost $280,000! Please follow the link if you wish to donate to this true patriot's cause.
